Sunshine! Our first day of sun in literally weeks of the old gray sky and a lot of rain. Today we climb hills, five of them. We have a strong headwind again which made the climbing even more difficult.

In Ehingen, after the first hill, the Plaza is filled with people celebrating having Sunday breakfast. On Sunday mornings nothing is open save the bakery. Saturday afternoon all the grocery stores close and we forgot to get food supplies. So were pretty hungry when we got there. The bakery had everything you could wish for.

We got royally lost again today. Actually road off the map. We were following the road signs and suddenly all the signs were towns we didn’t recognize because they were not on our map. That was the big clue!

We rode through some of the most beautiful countryside, but we had no idea where we were. The map book said we were entering some of the prettiest areas of interesting villages and that was the case. We finally were rescued by a German couple who were cycling to the town our final destination for the day and they virtually led us there. We would never have found it on our own.

They took us to their home which was just a couple kilometers away from the town and served us of German team for the afternoon. We met the whole family they were absolutely delightful friendly people we thank them for taking such good care of us.

Riedlingen is another one of those amazing must-see towns. It is small and charming. The buildings are all the old timber frame style. We managed to wander through the town before going to the campsite. We had dinner in the town because the campsite does not have any food nearby.

The campground is near the covered tennis courts. There were no signs showing how to get there from the town. So once again, we had to search out someone who spoke English and who knew where the campground was. We met Rolf, who uses a wheelchair with arm pedals. He guided us over to the camping which we would never have found on our own. There is no food in the camping place. There is a shelter for rainy days. The restrooms are very nice and clean and large. There are also power plugs for your electronics in the bathrooms.
